Phnom Penh - Capital of Cambodia!

From the Trip: Round the World in 172 days . . .

From: Jas and Andy

(June 22nd, 2008)

Wow - sounds amazing! I have been to Vietnam and absolutely fell in love with the people but couldn't get over to Cambodia. We were just in the Phillippines and it was exactly the same..The poverty and corruption, it all comes down to greed. It starts at the top and filters down which really sux. It has obviously been a moving experience....

I'm sure I wouldn't be able to swallow things like fried insects etc if I knew what they were, though I can understand the locals if they are hungry, each to his own. It must have been upsetting to see the war relics, and walk over the 'killing fields'. Ron sounds as though he is doing a grand job. XX

Hey guys, i read the book damage done and it really got to me, but i love to learn about these places and the history of it all, you have to be brave to look past the sorrow and pain these people go through ;( Like the idea of charity, sounds like Ron is a hero!!

Hoi An - Tailors anyone? - Yep, there's 300 here!!

Goodness me, you two are going to be the best dressed pair in Norfolk with all those clothes! Hope they didn't make them to tight in case you put on any weight when you get home, especially you James as you must have lost some with all the tum upsets. You will have to build extra wardrobes when you get back. XX

Looks like you've been following in the footsteps of the stars no less. I would think seeing anything that relates to any war is traumatic, but from what I remember of the Vietnam one, it was terrible to hear what the "peasants" had to go through to survive. Pleased to hear your tum is better James. Love XX

This one doesn't sound like a place you would recommend, and the table manners would put me off eating. You probably tense up when coming to borders without realising, in caase you are missing a Visa or something, then when you relax after everything is released!! Good job not premanent. XX

It certainly has been one long adventure, doing so many different things and not just as a tourist, as I doubt they see the real people like you have. I expect you are longing for some good old bangers and mash or similar aren't you James, your poor tum has suffered hasn't it? Love XX
