A journal entry from: Oz, Bangkok, KL & India in a flash!!
So I'm currently lying in bed and it's the day we're flying out to Australia. I feel calm and am pretty much packed so just need get myself ready and I'm done! James has gone off to the hairdressers, armed with a picture of some footballer (perhaps David Bentley?) who's hair he likes - so it seems he'll be sporting a bit of a mohican for the trip!
I think we're both excited but am guessing James will be a bit apprehensive about the flying part at this stage - the good thing is though, we're flying on one of Qantas' new A380 double decker planes which we've flown on before with Singapore Airlines and James said he loved it and couldn't even feel us taking off. We're not actually flying until 10pm tonight but we're getting the train and tube to Heathrow at 1.30 this afternoon so that we can meet friends at the airport who are getting there early due to buses. We don't mind getting there early as it just means the fun starts sooner and Heathrow is like a town in itself so it's not like we'll be stuck for things to do! I've already checked us in on-line so that we can sit together with Emma and Jodie - for those of you that don't know these are our friends not secret daughters we've been hiding!
Since the last blog for our big trip two years ago we've travelled around a bit but nothing as lengthy as this one. I went to Egypt to explore Cairo and a cruise down the Nile with my old work, we both went to Barcelona and James went again with his friends and I also went to Spain on Jodies hen weekend, then this May we went to Mexico for our friends Kelly and Pete's wedding which was fantastic. You'd be right to think travelling is fairly high on our list of things we HAVE to do in life! Our goal is take three trips or visit three countries each year and we've more or less managed it so far and don't intend stopping any time soon - already thinking about next year!
I'm not going to write much more as could easily start waffling (if I haven't already!) when I should probably be shaving my legs or something but don't fear I will try my hardest to update you as regularly as I can about what we're up to and where in the World we are. I can't however promise that this blog will be as funny as the last one, after all I am older and probably a bit more boring than I was two years ago! ;-)
