Nakhon Si Thammarat - 'Stop please driver!!'

Written on: Monday May 5th, 2008

A journal entry from: Round the World in 172 days . . .

This is going to be a very short blog, because actually we didn't really see NST, as this time I was ill - it had to happen at some point I suppose! Although why today of all days I don' know! We had to travel on buses for 8 hours, so it was the worst day for me to suddenly come down with a vey dodgy tummy! I woke up feeling a bit ropey, but thought it wouold blow over and then we got to the Thai border, where everything went very smoothly to cross into Thailand apart from as soon as my passport was stamped the toilet was calling and it was probably the most unpleasant squat I've seen! Great! The next part was even worse though, as we were in a minibus with some other foreign travellers and there's no way I was going to make it to the bus station, so I had to get the driver to pull over at the nearest place, which after his suggestion of the side of the road, was a garage with an even more unpleasant squat!

After the minibus I'd taken some imodium and was praying I'd be ok for the next leg, as it was on a big public bus for 4 hours and I don't think this driver would pull over for me - luckily I went to sleep and made it all the way!

We got to the first hotel in Thailand and instead of indulging in a Thai Green curry (my favourite meal!) like I'd imagined, I didn't leave the room until the next morning when we left for Ko Samui! Doh!

Oh poor you Kaori, what a state to be in. James you weren't getting your own back with a 'sicky spell' were you? Ha Ha. No it isn't a joke to feel so rotten I know. Half last comment not there, so hope this goes through. Take care, Love XX
