A journal entry from: Australia
Temperature wise and hostel wise, Broome was a welcome relief compared to Darwin, it's still very hot here but about 5 degrees less than Darwin and not as humid so its more bearable. We walked from the airport to the hostel called the Kimberly Klub (only about 5 min walk). This is one of the nicest places we've ever been to. The pool is awesome and the facilities are great, we (Sile) cook everything on the barbie so it's dead handy.
The beaches in Broome are some of the nicest in Oz. We hired bikes and cycled to cable beach the other day. Its an absolutely brilliant spot. Swimming in the indian ocean was spectacular - the water was perfect and the beach itself is great to chill out on. Broome also have an outdoor cinema so we had to check it out - went to see the mummy 3, nothing spectacular but entertaining nonethless given that we were outdoors.
We go swimming at least 2 or 3 times a day, you need to in this heat and you dry off in minutes its that hot. Weve spent a load of time just chilling out beside the pool in the hostel - really nice and relaxing.
