We are flying out of Christchurch to Melbourne, Australia to begin our next leg of the trip. We only stayed in christchurch for two nights and didnt get up to much. We walked around the city a bit and checked out the Cathedral square and Botanical Gardens. The square has a giant sized chess set for locals to wander up and play whenever they like, looks cool, they should have that back in Ireland. Check out the photos and you'll see what I mean.
