A journal entry from: Chile
We arrived into San Pedro in Chile at the end of the salt flats tour. We all got searched in case we were bringing fruit and things like that in! Luckily all we had was smelly clothes! We stayed in a really nice hostal in San Pedro. Best thing about it was it had a clothes line so I got to do all my washing!! Stayed in a dorm the first night but the owner of the smelliest feet I´ve ever smelled also stayed there so we got our own room the second night. It was still pretty cheap though Chile is not near as cheap as Bolivia and Peru. We went out for dinner the first night, really gorgeous! and sampled the local wine-also gorgeous! The restaurant we went to was cool. It had a big opening in the roof and there was a fire in the middle of the restaurant. We ate our dinner and then took our bottle of wine and sat beside the fire and looked up at the Chilean sky! It was brilliant! We´ve just been hanging around otherwise, reading, internet and relaxing. We needed a rest after the salt flats tour. Onwards to Argentina now and steak, steak, steak!
