We stayed around Cusco for about 5 or 6 days, (days are totally mixed up to me now!) to get used to the high altitude before doing the Inca trail. Just taking our bags from the airport to the taxi outside had us out of breath and then climbing the stairs in hostel less us breathless as well! But we had a few cups of matte the coca and Kev slept for hours and we felt fine after that! Cusco is really beautiful but very touristy. It´s full of hostels, shops and restaurants. And people try to sell you something everywhere. Everywhere we went we were surrounded by old women and young kids trying to sell us finger puppets, water bottles holders, chewing gum, everything you wanted!

We did a tour of the Sacred Valley tour one day ' really gorgeous sites. Did a bit of walking as well which prepars us, a bit!, for the Inca trail!
