So Long, Farewell Schladming

Written on: Friday July 15th, 2011

A journal entry from: Europe 2011

Have spent the past five days in the so easily lovable town of Schladming, Austria.

In the middle of the Alps with green covered mountains, cute houses with flower boxes, sobblestone main street where the locals gather and īthe smell of smoked pork in the air. Our concerts have been well received with the last one yesterday being the biggest success. We played on a stage set up on the main street in the evening. Overcast sky threatening rain did not keep the locals from sitting outside in their leiderhosen (I dont kid!) and dirndls sipping beer and cheering us on - it got to be standing room only!

Spent a day in Salzburg. Again very quaint. Bought a lovely modern painting of Salzburg that has musical figures hidden in it. Visited Mozarts birthplace, and went on a Sound of Music tour. The best part was just eating my cheese and bread by the river while I hear someone playing the clarinet beautifully in the distance.

Off to Munich tomorrow and will say goodbye to the band.

Lots of love.
