Hiking again!

Written on: Wednesday October 3rd, 2007

A journal entry from: See you next year!

Lençois is a beautiful little town close to the Chapada Diamantina National Park. After having been on sea-level for so long, it was great for me to actually see mountains again, even though they were only between 800 and 1500 meters high (which for us Dutch is huge anyway).

Also, it was great to do some physical exercise again, after our jobs as professional caipirinha-testers under the supervision of Mr. Fabiam (He forgot to mention that some big woman from some market stall in Olinda had come out best).

I loved this 3-day hike, especially since the reward after a good climb would not just be the view of another great waterfall, but also the swim we would have in the pool in front of it. Even Roy managed to take a bath in the freezing water!

And we slept in caves, which was just as romantic as it sounds. Or maybe not.
