Nadi, Viti Levu

Written on: Wednesday July 16th, 2008

Having made it to my first destination, I arrived a bit flat, tired and not really sure about where to stay or what to do.  So I chatted with some locals and eventually picked a spot: Nadi Bay Hotel...a pretty nice place too!  The day was spent exploring town and planning activities for tomorrow.  There was a strange feel about this place...all the local Fijians seemed to hold a silent discontent for the immigrant Indians who had set up shop and run the majority of the businesses in town.  Fortunately that mindset did not exist at the resort.

Speaking of which, my first dorm room was working out well.  I roomed with two Brits who were about five weeks into their six month journey.  We bonded well and even had a nightly texas hold 'em game, their newest addiction after spending too much time in Vegas earlier in the trip.

That's all to report for now.  Time to hit the hay.

Caught this one late - did you take the time to confuse them with Sheep's Head?
