TAKTSHANG MONASTRY: is the most famous of all the monasteries and its perched on the side of a cliff which is 900M above Paro Valley. The name means "Tiger's nest" and was named after Guru Rinpoche was said to have flown on the back of a tigress to this site. It was destroyed by fire in 1998 and was reconstructed again. It is recognized as a very holy place and pilgrims from all over Bhutan come here. The view point for the monastery sits at about one hour walk and provides close up view of the monastery. The trek back takes half and hour.
