Roma Day 2

Written on: Wednesday July 21st, 2010

A journal entry from: Italy 2010

Ciao!

It is 12:41 AM, and I am just waiting to see if anyone will appear online for Facebook chat...today was a great day!  I'm pretty sure it was cooler, maybe 35, though I could be wrong.  It's still unbearable when you're in the full sun!  Last night Nicole and I went out for dinner at a Sicilan restaurant with Alessio, then walked over to the river where they have a bunch of cafes and bars along the water.  Good times, but another late night!  Needless to say, I woke up feeling pretty rough after sleeping in that extremely hot room, and I'm definitely getting a cold as well.  And as far as I can tell they do not have Cold FX here.  Nooooo!

After a slow start, Nicole and I walked over to the Trevi Fountain which was amazing, and then over to the Pantheon, which was also really cool.  Then we walked over to Piazza Navona and just relaxed at a cafe with an iced coffee.  We also figured out the bus system, so we bused it back to the train station to go home, I don't think we would have made it if we were walking!  Seriously.

So far, our plan tomorrow is to find our way to the Villa Borghese where there are a couple art galleries and which should be air conditioned!  Then we're going to relax in the park if it's not too hot!  :)   On Friday, we are going to a whirlwind tour of the Colosseum in the morning and the Vatican in the afternoon.  Definitely taking the bus.

Hope all is well, 3 more nights!

You must be sick! No blogs or photos or facebook status changes all day! I hope you had a chance to visit the Vatican today as planned - can't wait to see you again! Your little sisters miss you!
