Galapagos, Day 8

Written on: Sunday September 9th, 2007

A journal entry from: Bolivia, Peru, and the Galapagos!

We arrived on North Seymour island last night. Its our last stop before we head to the airport. This island was special because of the large amount of birds that are nesting here, mostly blue footed boobies and frigate birds. The frigate birds were especially interesting because the males have a big red pouch on their chest that they fill with air to attract the female birds. The female birds simply circle above and then fly down to the male that they find most appealing.
