Salt Flats, Atulcha

Written on: Sunday August 5th, 2007

A journal entry from: Bolivia, Peru, and the Galapagos!

We continued across the salt flat to the small town of Atulcha (population about 125) where we stayed at a hotel made of salt blocks called Hotel de Sal Marith. The hotel was cozy despite having no heat. Our cook prepared our dinner and breakfast in the kitchen there (along with the cooks for the 3 or 4 other tours staying there that night). The food was great once again, my favorite was a soup that she prepared as our starter for dinner. While  dinner was being prepared, however, we went on a tour of some Inca and Pre-Inca tombs and storage caves nearby.
