Paris

A journal entry from: England (and Paris!)

We arrived in Paris on Wednesday afternoon and headed for our hotel. We stayed at the Kyriad Hotel near the Pernety metro stop just south of Montparnasse. The hotel room was tiny, but romantic, very clean and modern. We had dinner that night in one of the neighborhood restaurants.

On Thursday, we strolled down Champs-Elysees then headed for the Seine. We bought a pass on the Paris Batobus, a small "hop-on, hop-off" boat service that runs up and down the Seine stopping at the major tourist sites. This day turned out to be the first warm, sunny day we had seen during our vacation, but it was a little too hot for viewing all the outdoor sites. We once again ate dinner that night at a restaurant in our neighborhood.

On Friday, we continued site seeing and also made it to Musee D'Orsay. We had dinner that night at a bistro that Hayden's friend Warren had recommended to us. The food was great, though the service was a bit slow. After dinner, we attempted to stroll around Paris at night, but instead spent our time searching for a bathroom. We ended up paying 16 Euros for two Cokes at a bar so we could use their bathrooms (we were too honest, we should've just snuck in!).

On Saturday, we leisurely strolled over to the train station for our return to England, stopping for a coffee in Luxembourg Park on the way.
