Ahhhhhh Panaji.

A journal entry from: India

Breathing in a deep breath of air right now. Goa (the coastal area - province?) is a completely different story than Mumbai. Which, apparently is the case if you take two steps anywhere different in all of India... Any remaining Mumbai shoulder tension has dripped off (along with everything else due to the currents of raging sweat rivers) and we find ourselves in a pleasant little town called Panaji.

Feelings of safety have increased ten-fold. I have to keep reminding myself that I am in India, as the landscape and Portuguese influence tricks me into thinking I'm in Central America or something. We went to Old Goa today, a historic small town of Catholic influence - perfect for the traveller interested in ice-cream, European churches, or Karma Sutra postcards.

I am in love with Indian food, and will likely not be the skin and bones version of myself I expected upon return. Haven't been sick or wierd. We went to an amazing restaraunt last night, and were very well taken care of - we watched four or five Indian waiters struggle with each other just to open our bottle of wine...

Still hoping for more chances to connect with Indian people to a greater extent. This perhaps depends on our area of travel.

That's all for now, I have added a few blogs at once, so follow the link to view Mumbai updates.
