Island hopping: SW Thailand - NE Malaysia

Written on: Saturday March 10th, 2007

A journal entry from: Southeast Asia

We've been holidaying...island hopping - sun, sand, sea and snorkelling.  After Krabi town in southern Thailand we spent a week on the very small island of Ko Jum then onward to Ko Lipe, the most southerly island in the marine park of Ko Tarutao.  Malaysia was our next destination, to the Perhentian Island of Palau Kecil. These islands were chosen because of their lack of development and their pristene clear waters. We have snorkelled on coral reefs, finding Nemo and swimming with the sharks and turtles.  Now it's back on the road to discover the Islamic city of Kota Bharu in northeastern Malaysia.

I LOVE Krabi! Go check out Koh Lanta, it was my favourite island around there, you can get to it by car from Krabi Town.

What an amazing trip you continue to experience!! The learning never ends. Can't wait to hear more upon your return to Nelson.
