Your pics are terrific. Have a great trip next week. Don't imagine Limon gets too many English speaking people.

It's all part of the adventure, right?

I like your blog posts. They´re far more descriptive than mine. I´ll be sure to keep following them through Nicaragua and Costa Rica, so you better keep posting them. Miss you!

That's why trips like that are so great - you get to see the "real" parts of the country, not just the tourist hotspots. Glad to hear you're having a good time!

With everything you have going on, I can't believe you remembered my birthday! And took the time to choose such a funny e-card! Of course, it goes without saying --You are my favourite niece!

Well look who passed her literature exam!!

The coffee we buy from Guatemala that supports the Internation Education Fund is from the Santa Clara estate. Is this the same plantation you were at?

I think it was a different plantation. I think some of the money went toward the health initiatives, but I think it was mostly just a fair trade effort promoted by the parish. I'll try to find the Santa Clara estate! I think I might be going back to that area.

No question we are likely to be born in Canada (Iceland, Norway, Australia, Canada and Ireland are ranked as the top 5 countries by the UN as 'the the world's most desirable country to live in'). Agree here are many factors (i.e. being located on abundant natural resources) but I believe the 'luck' of the country is also made - made by leadership. People with vision, integrity and courage, like Ninet Montenegro, need support of the people or Guatemala will struggle to realize its potential. Have fun at Earth Lodge.

The little bus that could...eventually *warning: Its long and descriptive*

Wow Meggs thankyou for your descriptive blog I was mesmerized and shamed by it. We in the West have got a lot to learn. When is compassion to our fellow man going to mean more than money.
