Coming in to Hong Kong

Written on: Sunday June 17th, 2007

A journal entry from: South East Asia

Left Vancouver at 3am on the 15th of June after only an hour and a half of sleep.  It was about 28 to 30 hours of travel by the time we got our hostel here in Hong Kong.  Needless to say I was pretty wrecked.

Of course the airlines had lost our bags and the only thing I had with me was a pair of jeans, a tank top, sandals, and a jacket.  At 29 degrees (10pm) this was not a desirable outfit.

The rooms here are really set on minimalism.  Last night we got lucky with a two bed place, but tonight we are in a room the size of a queen size matress.  The bathroom has a sink, a toilet and a shower head.  The ultimate all in one bathroom.

Today we got going around 9am.  Got to see lots of the markets and roam around the streets.  Lots of little booths everywhere lining the streets.  Surprised to see 7-11 and Circle K every 10 feet.  There is also a big park right by our hostel, with at least 30 flamingo's in it.

Anyways, I will write soon when I am a bit less scattered.
