A journal entry from: Around the World in 80 Days!

Hey everyone,

Well, our night train wasn't too shady... not the best sleep we've had the whole trip but we got there on time without any of our bags being stolen while we slept.  We arrived early and spent our morning trying to find somewhere to have breakfast and stash our bags.  The Guggenheim didn't open till 10 so we took our time walking there and checking out the museum from the river.

We spent the majority of our day walking around the exhibits and admiring the architecture of the museum from the interior... I took a bunch of pictures that I found out later I wasn't allowed to be taking but it's still a space that you have to experience in person to grasp the complexity.  The second floor of the museum was closed while they were setting up an exhibition but we saw the permanent exhibitions on the main floor and the Surreal exhibit on the third.

By the time we had finished in the Guggenheim it was time for a quick bite to eat before heading back to the train station and setting off to Madrid.  That was a very nice train... TV's and everything... too bad all the movies were in Spanish.  Once arriving to Madrid we had a ways to get to our hostel.  The train station was on the very north end of the city and our hostel is right in the center, lucky for us Madrid has a great Metro system.

But more about Madrid later...
