A journal entry from: Around the World in 80 Days!

Day 4 - Sydney, AUS - distance travelled: 13,860 km

Hey Everyone,

We made it to Sydney with all of our luggage!  Both the plane ride from Calgary to San Fran and San Fran to Sydney were very good.  We lucked out on United and got exit row seats... and with Quantas, well... can't go wrong there.  Personal TV, three course meals, and free wine. That was definitely the way to fly.

So far we've been doing a lot of walking.  Our hostel isn't too far away from downtown and the waterfront so we've been walking everywhere... something I'm sure we'll continue doing a lot of over the next few weeks.  Our hostel is very nice, extremely clean, very quiet... almost too quiet.  I'm sure we'll get some partying in once we've found our travelling legs.

Sydney is beautiful.  We've spent most of our time around the Botanical Gardens and the harbour.  We went on a harbour cruise this afternoon that took us on an hour tour of the waterfront.  We've scoped out what we'll keep ourselves busy with until leaving for Surfers Paradise on Thursday.  We'll be heading out to Bondi Beach tomorrow then spend Wednesday and Thursday going through the art galleries, museums, and the aquarium.

We'll continue to be in touch... we'll try uploading a few photos later on!

Hey Guys!! Have a great time in Sydney! There is a pretty cool bar in Coogee beach (I think it is called the palace.) It is right on the beach, four levels, good drinks. I remember having fun there (from what I can remember of the night!)
