Here is my info-mercial on random things to do in Terrace:
- Drink
beers at Craigs house ? although Craig, who works for Hawkair and got me
to Terrace in a fine aircraft, has not quite moved into his newly
purchased house yet, he is always down to invite you over to his parents
house to have beers and watch hockey or stand-up comedy.
- Walk Ferry
Island ? Ferry
Island is an island (really?) in
the Skeena river that you can go to and
walk around. All through the trees there are carvings of creepy old men
and various forest creatures. They are all carved by some dude, and I met
him.
- Hike Terrace Mountain
? it is a big hill that looks out onto the city and the Skina river, as
well as the surrounding mountains. Most people prefer to hike during
daylight hours, but we aren?t that normal. We decided at about 8:00 at
night that we should try to get to the top before it got dark. As you see
from the pictures, we just made it in time. Needless to say we got lost on
the way down, and it was well after 10:30 by the time we found John?s car.
- Squirrel
Hunting ? if you have a squirrel living in your attic that drives everyone
nuts scratching around and making the dog bark at 5am (like Berta did),
the logical thing to do in Terrace is to hunt the little bugger down with a
BBgun. Those critters are fast and hard to hit, but John is a good
marksman (cough cough?after using up half the can of pellets?.ahem)
- Learn
to weld ? self explanatory
- Extreme
paper airplane flying ? it?s the new sport up here, you build some paper
airplanes and see how fast you can fly them with a little help of your
automobile and a straight-stretch of road.
That?s all folks?
