Chiang Mai - Laos

Written on: Tuesday October 23rd, 2007

A journal entry from: London

After spending the day driving up from Chiang Mai through to Chiang Khong we spent the night at the boaders and took the ferry across to Huay Xai the following morning. From here we made are way up to Luang Prabang by slow boat which took 2days, one night spent half way in a tiny village.

Luang Prabang is quite small so I have just spent the day looking around and enjoyed a night out on the town - as you do! This morning (23rd Oct) I took the bus towards Vientiane where I'm currently spending the night at Vang Vieng. It's beautiful - very remote and apparently very different from its main city - Vientaine  also very hot and humid!

Sorry the pics are not great but my camera decided to die on me and I have not been able to re-charge it until today. Never mind - the main thing is I got to see what I wanted - shame you didn't!

Love, Liz xxxxx
