A journal entry from: Europe 2012

We have a feeling that we left Corsica far too soon. There were still too many mountains trails, coastal towns and wonderful hikes to be done. Apparently however the crowds arrive en masse at the beginning of July and the place becomes insupportable. May and June are excellent months to be there. The weather is very good, prices are reasonable and there are few tourists.  After leaving Bonifacio we headed back to the mountains to visit one of the many prehistoric sites to be found in Corsica, a place called Casteddu di Cucuruzzu that was inhabited by bronze age artisans and farmers. The site was beautifully situated in a pine forest but looking at the stone dwellings makes one glad that we have developed a few amenities over the ages. After a few more days of hiking, biking and swimming in the crystal clear rivers in the mountains of northern Corsica we boarded the ferry at Isle Rousse direction Nice. We immediately climbed into the mountains behind Nice. They are very impressive and for now we have excellent weather. We just finished a pretty strenuous  hike and the views were fabulous. If the weather stays good we hope to really explore this area before heading for the flatlands.

Your Corsican adventure has inspired us! What a beautiful place. What was the name of the villa? I really think we have to go there.
