The Isle of Skye Photos

Our last place in Kelso in the border region of Kelso.

One of the many beautiful abbeys to be found in this area.

Our niece Pam holding up the pub wall.

Gathered around the ancestors' grave.

We found these "wild deer" in the parking lot of a hotel. They were still there after our hike four hours later.

Bev, pretending she is hiking the West Highland Way. The entire hike actually takes about 8 days.

The rails to trails route we found. When finished it will be 100km long. So far only 5 km has been completed.

Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most photographed castles in all of Scotland.

The bridge to Skye.

Our rain capes were very handy on Skye as we never knew when the next gale would blow in.

With a little sun the scenery on Skye is beyond description.

We went to the farthest reaches of Skye to find this yarn but the setting and the beer made it well worth it.

The heather on Skye is amazing.

As are the views.

This pub, in the middle of nowhere, had 370 different single malt whiskies on offer! (and a campground across the road!)

Camping on Skye. It's hard to believe so many people would consent to tough this climate out in a tent.
