Jerusalem and The Dead Sea

Written on: Saturday April 16th, 2011

A journal entry from: Israel 2011

We spent a day in Jerusalem and walked all over the Christian Quarter. We went inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It is venerated as Calvary Hill where Jesus was crucified and also contains the tomb where He was buried and rose again.

We did quiet a bit of shopping and had a great time negotiating with the shop owners.

The Dead sea was an awesome experience, especially the mud pit. The idea is to coat yourself with this black mud and then rinse it off in the sea. It supposedly has some kind of magical healing power. I'm just glad Greenpeace wasn't there!!

There is still more to see in Israel so check back and see what we have been up to.

Hey, great pictures! I enjoyed the mud pictures, and the Carrie-sized door. Thanks for posting them... especially right around Easter time, which just adds an extra layer of appreciation. Love you guys!

Ok, so first off I'm kind of shocked that you guys got all muddied up! WOW!! I think that's awesome, though, and I know Abel and I would have been right there with ya! Thanks for posting all these great pics! It's just really neat seeing all the ancient and amazing sites! Love you!
