Mui Ne

A journal entry from: South East Asia

When we first arrived in Mui Ne it was raining... just like most of Vietnam was I was very disappointed about that; we were looking forward to relaxing on the beach and trying to regain the tans that have been lost with all the bad weather here.  Luckily the second day the weather picked up.  Mui Ne is famous for kiteboarding, so therefore ridiculously windy.  We tried to lay on the beach for a couple of hours but just got sandblasted so stuck with the hotel pool.  We spent a couple days just relaxing by the pool, Linzy and Sally did a bit of shopping (I was still too crippled to go too far) and when Dad went to bed checked out some of the nightlife, which unfortunately wasn't very happening.  We did have one massive night with some people that the girls had met in Saigon on the tunnels tour, but otherwise it was pretty tame.  We did a half day tour of the sand dunes which inclued visiting a (very smelly) fishing village and went "sledding" down the white dunes.  The red sand dunes weren't as exciting as the white ones so we just stayed briefly and then went to "fairy creek" which was quite scenic as well.
