Day 5: 367 miles, Sundance, WY to Red Lodge, MT

Written on: Tuesday July 10th, 2007

After breakfast and breaking camp, we headed through the national forest to Devil's Tower. This appeared to not be the typical approach as we found 30 miles of dirt road, countless startled cattle and lots of private property. Seemed worth it in the end.

Slabbed in on to mexican lunch and Starbucks in Gillette, and then on through to Sheridan. Peeled off 90 and took 14 and 14A through Bighorn National Forest. This was truly amazing and the highlight of the trip. Met some more interesting characters, including Timmy, who was 9 days into a 4 week ride. Now that's a long jam.

Stopped before dark and set up camp in Custer National Forest outside Red Lodge, MT.
