Tokyo Imperial Palace

Written on: Friday July 2nd, 2010

A journal entry from: Tokyo

Because the grounds are closed to the public there really was not a lot to see but there are a few notable locations.

The first was the large grass area with pine trees that is far as the eye can see. Well, maybe not that big but still rather extensive. I believe it is called kokyogaien but am not 100% sure.

The next area is a distant view of Nijubashi Bridge from the pedestrian path along the moat. Though also a very busy area for tourists.

Wandering farther along there are a number of smaller parks and paths that surround the other sides of the palace grounds. These are less crowded but still worth wandering through if you have extra time. Not to mention a good spot to bring a bento and enjoy the view.
