Iga: Matsuo Basho Museum Photos

Just outside of the gate of the house.

This was a writing house in the garden where he would work with his students.

Random snail on a tree in the garden.

The garden and haiku statue. It was said that he would write under a palm tree.

A room in the museum.

The entrance room has a statue of Masuo-san.

The front door was very small... it is said that it taught children to bow before entering and exiting the house. Plus makes it more difficult to come in with a sword.

Near the local museum was another haiku poem and small hat shaped umbrella. A nice break along the way.
