Dear Jeremy and gang. You all make me so jealous. All I can treat you with is the fun times around the Moreton bay last weekend and or course, the delights of tropical islands from Sunday onwards for a couple of weeks. Do not think of the moonlight on shining waters, palm trees swaying and the lap lap of water against the coral shore….no Barry and I will not tempt you. As you may have guessed we are excited. Barry did really well in the Bramble Bay classic and since then has graduated to TK1 for flat water paddling experience. His best is on the sea and catching waves is the next big thing. Our adventure starts on Friday (ANZAC Day) with a drive to Cape Hillsborough NP (near Mackay - est 1000k) and then on to Mission Beach (est 900k), then hit the water for island hopping for 5 days. The return adventure will also be via Magnetic island and then Agnes Water and all we can do on the surf boards in between: alighting at Brisbane 10 May. Getting our gear together and the practice runs has been fun - though differing styles for gathering and camping have become evident (ask your parents: I am for less is more)! Barry is then off to Townsville and then Salisbury for work too. There have been many other but work related things happening: not as much fun as monkeys leaping and new smells and people to see - not starting the day with knowing the job at hand etc. Cannot wait until I have another adventure overseas like you. Shall get back to my work and think about your fabulous holiday some more. See you in June when you get back - with pictures and stories and we will also torture you with ours... |

I was glad to find a new entry in your blog. Everyday I think of you and your adventures and I wonder what they are. We have something in common..... When I was traveling in Europe with your mum and uncle Geoff, local food from the different countries was my first priority and you too seem to mention a lot of yummies in your blog. Enjoy!!! Love Grandaddy |

Just to remind you that we do have some lovely places here - ew leave obn ANZAC Day (25 Ap)for north Qld. We paddle frpom, Cardwell to Etty Bay just south of Cairns vsiting several islands, camping out and hoping the waters are as beautiful as always. After that we travel down the coast dropping off whereever the road takes us - lots mpore poaddle and surfing as well. For tonight a traditional Aussie thing - fish adn chips then drinks on a verandah with friends. Not as much fun as you - but just wait. Do tell more! Fiona |
