A journal entry from: Jeremy's trip to Europe
I was in Ireland for 4 days. I flew over from London Luton (about 2 and half hours by plane). We arrive in Shannon, a small, beautiful town, where my Aunty Dianne?s sister lives. We went to a medieval castle called Bunratty Castle where we were entertained by people dressed in medieval clothes, listened to music and had a medieval feast which we ate with our hands and a king was chosen for the night. I got a bit stuck in the dungeons (I messed with the king!!). After dinner we went to a pub called Dirty Nelly?s were we had an Irish sing song (and even one or two Australian songs). One of the days we went on an island where they still speak Gaelic and took a horse and carriage around the island. We also walked threw the cliffs Moher.
We then went to Killarney where we drove around the Ring of Kerry. On the Ring of Kerry we saw a round fort and a beautiful beach and other beautiful scenery. We took a tour threw the Gap of Dunloe. To get to Katie?s Cottage, where the trek began, we took an old fashion bus. We walked 2.5 hour (7 miles) through the gap, but many people took a horse and carriage, to Lord Brenden?s Cottage. We then took a boat ride through three lakes. Queen Victoria had a holiday home there. The driver of the boat let me drive the boat for a little while on the third lake which was fun. When the boat got to Ross Castle we took the old fashioned bus back to town. From aunty janine on Jun 13th, 2008
