Home sweet home... but not for long!

A journal entry from: In the spiced Indian air....

Well India and Nepal was such an amazing journey.  I learned so much about the culture, and I firmly believe that Indian people are some of the most misunderstood (here in Canada anyway).  The people are BY FAR the most friendliest I have ever met... out of all the 24 other countries I have travelled to!  I think that's saying a lot.  The cultural and geographic diversity is staggering, and I think there is something for everyone in India.  It absolutely cannot be summarized as dirty, overcrowded and negatively overwhelming. Although there are parts of India that are definitely like that, the country as a whole is just so amazingly beautiful - people, culture and the scenery!!

So Jennelle and I were supposed to spend our last week in London, and I was to take off on another trip for another month with a friend.

But plans change.... and instead I flew back to Edmonton on Thursday June 10th and surprised my cousin for his wedding the next day!  My grandparents also didn't know I would be coming home a month early and the looks on their faces were priceless when I walked in the room.

It was really nice to see family and then come back to Calgary and see some friends, but it just wasn't weird enough for me.  I like to be gone for long enough that returning to Calgary feels strange. But I didn't feel that way....

SO.....In true Jenica fashion, I couldn't let my freedom from mundane daily life go.... and I leave for Australia today!!!!!! My mom has been wanting to visit Australia for years since she has an Aunt with an entire family there that most of which we have never met!  I'm really looking forward to spending time with my mom, the last time we travelled together was in 2000 and we went to London and Paris for 2 weeks.  I do have my mom to thank for my travel bug :)

I'm not sure who will be reading this still, but I'm going to keep up with this blog while I'm in Aus. We fly into Brisbane and head north, stopping along the way until we get to the Whitsundays. Then we fly back to Sydney and then home on July 9th.  Just in time for the last weekend of Stampede!
