A journal entry from: London to Beijing overland!!

Hi all, well we left Tabriz and headed towards the Caspian sea to the village of masoleh where we spent 2 nights. The drive was beautiful with mainly rice paddy fields along the road.

Masoleh is a little mountain town where the houses are built in layers up the hill and the roofs are the footpath for the next layer up.  We got to sleep in a little apartment with our own kitchen and bathroom - so it was nice to have the place to ourselves after our rooms of 7 in Tabriz.

The owner of our apartment had a cafe next door so we spent the first night drinking tea and smoking shishas.  The owner then cooked us brekky in the morning, which was nice.  We had an easy day wandering around the village which had lots of trinket shops and many tea houses.

Take care H&R
