A journal entry from: London to Beijing overland!!

Hi all.

We had a great day out on a boat ın Oludenız we went around to the various coves and little islands and went swimming and fishing again no fish!  So we caught lots of sun and had a great day out with the group.

Well we are back at the beach.  We arrived in Olympos yesterday afternoon and are staying in tree houses for 3 nights.  www.sabanpansıon.com    We have a tree house to ourselves which consists of a one room hut off the ground of course - not in a tree though - with simply a mattress with sheets and blankets.  Our windows have neither glass nor fly wire so we can talk to those next to us.  Late last night it started raining and ended up being a huge thunder storm so a bit of glass would have been nice but hey better than our tents!  İts still a bit stormy today so we are having a lazy day of cards and backgammon as the beach is out.  We are staying in a little tree house village in between the mountains which is very nice.

Well better go games to be played, we have a bit of table tennis going on, so yes its a hard life!

Day 2 - Olympos - Another lazy day had by all!  We went for a walk through the ruın of Olympos which is an ancient city which lies between the tree house village and the beach.  The Olympians worshipped the god of fıre.  İt was still a bit rainy today so no swimming again!  We are off to see the chimeara tonight which is a cluster of flames that blaze spontaneously from crevices om the rocky slopes of Mt Olympos (thankyou Loney planet!)  gas seeps from the earth and bursts into flames as it comes into contact with the air.

Take care Heather and Russell.

Hiya, we had a public holiday in QLD today, so went off to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to pat and feed the kangaroos and get a photo with a baby croc! It was a great day. Enjoy your games!
