The pilgrimage to Gallipoli

No kiwi could go to Turkey and not stop in at Galipolli, where about 3,000 kiwi soldiers and 12,000 aussies died fighting alongside the British in WW1.
We joined up with an aussie guy to take a tour of the battlefields.  We had a turkish tour guide who we felt was taking just a little bit too much pleasure in how the outnumbered Turks wasted a poorly organised British invasion... but maybe that was us just getting a little defensive.
After the cruise shippers in Istanbul, facing the busloads of aussies and kiwis here was a piece of cake.
