Jerez, say it with a lithsp

Written on: Tuesday March 27th, 2012

A journal entry from: Andalucia, Spain

Rented a lovely apartment for a week with a pool in the courtyard but the heatwave of last week didn't last unfortunately.  We've managed to soak up more sherry than sun  (Jerez is in the sherry triangle).  I thought we were too young for sherry, but it's amazing how the call for a glass of sweet chilled sherry rang in my young ears by 6pm.

Apart from sherry, this area is also well known for its horses so we made sure we introduced Sasha to the big nosed beasts and what's better is she didn't get her hand chomped off when she nose-gauged one.  As the lead-up to easter begins, there are huge parades that go through the evening, huge affairs with a carnival atmosphere. I'll let the photos do the talking, all a bit weird but great fun.
