South Africa's Soccer City has celebrated the World Cup closing ceremony with singers performing melodies of local music from urban hip-hop to a cappella chorals. Former President Nelson Mandela waved to the tens of thousands of fans, drawing thunderous applause as he was driven onto the pitch. The World Cup final between the Netherlands and Spain is underway and we're joined by four-time World Cup visitor Liam Cosgrave live at half-time in the stadium at Soccer City. Loving the commentary and pics. Even in NZ, all conversations seem to be about the world cup. The fact NZ has a team has no doubt helped - but NZers are under no illusion that they are anywhere in the running - however, the excitement of the whole event can be felt here.
