Gunnarbyn and Tree Hotel

Wild moose!

Took a night train north and spent a great couple of evenings in Gunnarsbyn with host Petri and his fantastic family.

The weather had been pretty dodgy but it fined up for a day, making the trip to Harads to see the Tree Hotel (mainly the mirror room) there a dazzling experience. It also meant that the setting sun and the autumnal colours combined for some fairly spetacular scenery back at Gunnarsbyn.

Petri is currently making a movie about some reindeer herders so we went to try to find them - but it is not always easy to find someone living a nomadic life. The enclosure that they are building to house the reindeer in the winter was cool. It was going out there that we spotted some wild moose trotting through a field.
