Khustain Nuruu National Park

A journal entry from: November 2011 until...

Arrived in Mongolia and caught up with Nick. With a posse of Nick's AYAD (Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development) colleagues we headed out to Khustain Nuruu National Park where we saw the only wild herd of Przewalski's Horse in the world and some ancient deer stones. We stayed in a ger and went for a bit of a walk on the steppe.

Apparently it is taboo to step on the threshold of a ger - I guess it is because you should always have a whole number of people in-te-ger. Ahh!

One thing I haven't done in Mongolia, the Land of Blue Sky, is see the blue sky - it has been raining a fair bit. Hopefully it will be clear for the transit of Venus on the 6th!
