Sling-shotting through Tokyo

Written on: Wednesday May 30th, 2012

A journal entry from: November 2011 until...

Dropped into Tokyo as I was in the neighbourhood...

Just a short stay this time, but still plenty of time for Tokyo to live up to its reputation for uniqueness.

Exhibit a)

I was looking for the Mongolian embassy to sort out a visa. I met a girl walking a huge tortoise. I asked her if the embassy was close by. She ran into a nearby office, leaving me alone with the reptile. A couple of minutes later she came back with a printed map which showed that the embassy was just around the corner. She went back to walking her tortoise.

Exhibit b)

Going for a nighti-time walk on Wednesday night, I heard a commotion in a park. It turned out to be a HUGE (maybe 8,000 people) Oktoberfest celebration (in May). There was a band dressed in lederhosen playing Smoke on the Water. There were sausages on sale for almost $10. Large sections of the crowd were going completely mental, dancing maniacally, like teenagers at a heavy metal gig. The band was actually German. Shame I didn't bring my decent camera. Did I mention that the accordion player was wearing a green clown mask?

Thank you Tokyo.

Draw a Perpendicular from "E" to "AB"Let it meet "AB" at "O"Consider the Triangles AEO and ABCThey are SIMILAR because angle "C" is 90 (Angle in a Semicircle!Angle "C"=Angle "O"=90Angle "A" is coommn)Therefor AE/AO = AB/ACThat is AE*AC=AB*AO.......(1)Similarly from the similar triangles BEO and BAD,BE/BO=AB/BDThat is BE*BD=AB*BO.....(2)(1)+(2)=> AB(AO+BO)=(AC*AE)+(BD*BE)That is AB*AB=(AC*AE)+(BD*BE)HENCE THE ANSWER!!!ASWATHY VARMACLASS XICOCHIN REFINERY SCHOOLAMBALAMUGAL.
