A journal entry from: World Cup 2010

Headed north to see Victoria Falls. The amazement of the falls was only matched by the amazement of bumping into Janine on a river cruise up the Zambezi (the last time we met was in Japan 6 years ago!).

Also went on a 'Lion Walk' which I was initially sceptical about - surely people shouldn't be walking with lions - but the aim of the project is to re-introduce lions into the wild through a 2-generation process. Walking with a 'pride' of people apparently helps lions to develop normal lion relations - the plan is for this generation of lions to be released into a very large enclosure and to raise wild offspring with no interference, which can then be relaeased into the real bush. Anyway, it was fun to walk with them.
