A journal entry from: July 08 - Jan 09

We took a three day trip to Etosha National Park, hoping to see wildlife. Being the wet season, the waterholes, which are the usual place for spotting animals were not so important for daily life. We therefore had to rely on luck as we drove around. We were very lucky, and saw more than a dozen large mammal species. The highlight for me was the big cats - especially the pride of lions who had just killed a Zebra and were carrying off the remains, harried by a pack of cape foxes. Seeing a leopard was also great. Actually the whole thing was great - the hours of sitting on our bums was definitely well worth it.
