Hello Conrand and Philippa. Those are awesome pictures and travel journals. I am so happy for you that you made it home safely. Boy what adventure stories and pictures you will have to tell and show your children (when you have them ). I travelled down to Monterrey Mexico two weeks ago on June 19th with my wife and kids to celebrate my father-in-law's 75th birthday. It was a blast but it was also very hot down there. It was about 115 degrees F. (about 45 degrees C. ) and luckily we planned ahead and took our own portable air-conditioning window unit to cool down the guest bedroom where we spent the week. Boy was that bedroom a popular spot with all of the 10 or so little cousins who somehow managed to convince their moms (My wife's sisters )that they could stay in our cold room to sleep for the the whole week that we were there. God bless the both of you and keep in touch. Happy 4th of July from Henrique in Dallas, Texas.

Sounds like fun! How many weeks/months/years do you think you'll be staying? It's midsummer's day today - grey, cloudy and raining - so I guess you're better off where you are! On the plus side the roses are fantastic this year, including Patch's rose and the Philippa! Loads of love to you both. Miss you. xxxxxxx

Can't believe you actually climbed up Huayna Picchu! I took one look at it when I was there and somebody told me they lost a few tourists off the steps every year so I abandoned any idea of climbing it! Glad you made it down! Enjoy the monkeys, hope they're friendly ... loads of love xxx

Hi guys, finally found some time to catch up on your travels. Ditto Jus it is on my list of places to see (don't know if I would do the climb and DEFINITELY won't be travelling in any buses!) Don't know if working with the monkey's is a good idea, the keepers may not know which ones to let out at the end of the day lol. Take care and enjoy!

Can't wait to see the pictures! Congratulations on getting this far and good luck for the next bit. The garden is looking quite 'jungly' at the moment, I think it's all the rain we've had but the temperatures don't match the tropics ... lots of love and God bless.

So relieved to hear from you - as we are going to be 'incommunicado' for a week now. Somehow Dorset doesn't sound very exotic compared with Brazil BUT it is the Jurassic Coast we are going to. Hope the next leg goes better - watch out for poison arrows, piranhas and mad seafarers! As you already know, anything is possible in Brazi! Sounds wonderful. Take care and God bless. Loads of love xxxx

Just tried Trancoso on Google and got up luxury hotels etc. but nothing so useful as a map! Also found a site about carnivals in Brazil, claiming that THE Carnival starts on the Friday after Shrove Tuesday and ends on Ash Wednesday!!! Maybe you guys (or 'ya'all')could make your fortune out there designing (and correcting) websites! Look forward to hearing more!

From: Callum

(April 22nd, 2008)

Great to catch up with you both in Boston and the 'Big Apple' I've got loads of photos too. It was a really enjoyable time and fun to visit the Empire State Building, Central Park and all the other sites together. Brazil sounds fabulous but its back to the reality of the highly variable English weather for us, some lovely Spring days and some not so lovely like today! Anyway happy St.Georges Day (its a good job some of us remember) and lots of love from Dad.xxx

Haha good times to be had then!? well l am sure if you get stuck up that creek Conrad could make an paddle from half a monkey and some bulrush roots Adventure man lol. well l hope the hammocks serve you well and there better be a WHOLE lot of pics from the Amazon. take it easy and l will speak to you soon.

From: Julie/Mum

(May 1st, 2008)

It's a bit nerve-racking knowing you're somewhere up the Amazon and not hearing anything but I guess 'no news is good news'! What's all this wine-drinking? Whatever happened to Caipirinha? Local rum should fix any bugs you might pick up ... I don't think! We thought of you especially last night in the Brazilian restaurant! Loads of love, take care.

Hi guys! This may well be our last message as we've got to sell the laptop- we're broke and declaring ourselves bankrupt. It's rather unfortunate but getting married comes at a huge price!... Oh and then there's your heartless brother who's taken all our cash at poker!!! The honeymoon's in cardboard city by the way....woe is me. xxxxxx

We've just arrived back from a fantastic fortnight in Boston and New York with you two, Ram et al. (It's seeing Harvard, makes me want to talk Latin - I don't think!) We got home at 11 this morning and are feeling pretty tired, so will be saying 'Boa noite' soon. Hope you got to Salvador OK and that it's as lovely as I remember. Enjoy the seafood, the vatapa and the BEACH!!! Miss you loads already. Love and hugs to you both. xxxxxxxx
