Chilling in Edmonton

A journal entry from: Conquer the Continent & Shanghai

Got picked up at the airport by someone who had to make a sign saying "Gary C".  He was part of the mission teams for planting churches in Edmonton and Regina and his wife also the Calgary church.  I'm staying with a couple of cool brothers.  One is blind but very musical, and the other is much like me (starting his own business, into Djing, and we even drive similarly...=P)

Went out to the church service and it was awesome.  The speaker was from Alaska, Ray "something".  The sermon definitely hit home for me.  I was surprised at how many Toronto people had come over to Edmonton...Ed and Sarah Chapell, Vicky, Phil Kanhai, Shayne & Miah Bannerman, and Marc from Ottawa.  Felt like a reunion of sorts.  Drove around the West Edmonton Mall and saw both downtown Edmonton and the ghetto parts.

The next day, actually went into West Ed and walked around for 6 hours!  They have an amusement park, a waterpark, a fire breathing dragon, etc.  Met up with Jason Chao and Chrstine later and had some Grade A steak at The Keg while watching the NCAA finals.  Good times.

I'm coming back to Toronto only to grab some stuff I forgot to pack the first time and to head straight to the airport after.  I'll be heading to Orlando, Florida.  Finally a warm destination...=)
