My travel to the Philippines had a rocky start because we had fog in Charlottesville and my early morning flight was cancelled the night before.  Fortunately I noticed early enough and called "Northworst" and they let me switch to a flight from Dulles; we still had to wake up at 4 am to drive up there, but at least I made it to Minneapolis where I was meeting my mom, Aunties Dorrie and Naomi, and Uncle Rene.  The flight was pretty long--12 hours to Tokyo/Narita and then another 4 hours onto Manila.  We arrived on Wednesday night there at 11 pm, so our first real day in Manila was on Thursday...
