learning to surf

A journal entry from: Sweating like a hostage

Surfing was a great way to spend 3 weeks of my travels.  I was feeling tired from always being on the move when I arrived in Costa Rica so spent some more time in fewer places. The waves were sweet at Playa Grande, across the estuary from Tamarindo, and in Malpais. Riding waves instead of snow over Christmas was kind of a trip. Had my birthday and Xmas in Tamarindo then New Years in Santa Teresa.  For some reason I took very few pictures of the surf and the beach, and more on the party scene. So these pictures don't really accurately describe my whole experience in Costa Rica. When I couldn't stand the heat a few of us took off to the mountains to do the tourist thing and hit up the canopy tours, hot springs, ect. ect. It turned out to be a blast.
