A journal entry from: Japan Blitz
Next place on the list was Ginza. Caught a train there, it truy is Japan's answer to 5th avenue... All these poshy brand name stores. The stores are actually a lot bigger, and the whole building is theirs. WOW such a nicceeee place. The roads were (dunno if intentional) had specks of white stuff so it looked like it was snowing. But the shops there were so nice and pretty. i think you gotta spend 2 days here to actually go into each store properly. Ginza was also home to the Sony building. 5 levels of Sony products. The entrance stairs were musically activated. As you step on each step, you'll hear the different keys do re mi fa so.....how cool ahhahaa... One level of tvs - plasmas, lcds sooo crisp clear; another level for home entertainment; another level for cameras (cybershot T200 omg) and video cameras; another level for speakers; another level for laptops - they have these new designs, looks poshy, so thin and small you can fit into an A4 case. Almost like a MacAir but thicker. Then there was Rolly!!!! Rolly is like the i-dog except its in a shape of a ball and when music is played, it actually rolls around and flaps its "wings"... so cute!!!! People will love it when it does come out. I-Dog only moves its ears and leg when it plays music. and yes they are both speakers. So yeh we spotted some new products not yet available.
Next, we went and had coffee at this nice cafe called Le Cafe Doutor. Sat in the smoking section coz it was packed. Ordered a mocha sooo good... sat around chatting and relaxing before moving on. Took us a while to find Tokyo's Imperial Palace/Gardens - home to Japan's royal family. We went past a lake on the way and then the closest we got to the palace was where the guard was. In front of the palace entrance there's a piece of empty land. It was roped off with a really thin wire. Could have taken the guard out but who knows - couldve been snipers around. Nothing to see coz it was dark so walked back to the station and caught a train to Harajuku.
