A journal entry from: Rouen Exchange

What is there to do in Brussels?  A question Hannah, Celeste and I asked ourselves before going ? and a question I would still ask.  We were just passing through, taking a bus to Amsterdam later in the evening but thought there must be something to do in the capital of Belgium.  Well, you can eat waffles.  That?s what we did.  After getting off the train and finding ourselves in the midst of a busy Sunday morning market (not somewhere you want to be with a big backpack) we found our way to the main town square.  There was a waffle house with outdoor seating so we found some space and sat down to take in the gorgeous day.  Celeste and I had a plan. Share our waffle so that then we could try different kinds.  We started with one with strawberries and whipped cream.  It was the best waffle I have ever had.  Our plan was to try waffles from different places but that one was so good and we had such a prime location that we ordered another one right after and put some chocolate spread on it.

After filling up on sugar, we walked toward the European Parliament buildings.  They were pretty quiet being it was a Sunday but there was a nice park behind with a little lake.  We laid down there and I think all of us fell asleep for a while.  We finally got ourselves moving and made our way back to the train station to get Hannah?s bags and then caught our bus to Amsterdam.
