Manila Again

Written on: Monday April 7th, 2008

A journal entry from: Southeast Asian Adventures!

It was back on the freezing bus for the 9 hour trip to Manila. We arrived at 3am and found a place to stay in the same area as before, Adriatico Street (I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Manila), and slept the day away. We were only in Manila for a few days, waiting for our light to Cebu City. We spent our time visiting Quiapo Church, a landmark in Manila, famous for an ebony statue of Christ that is believed to be miraculous. We also went back to China Town for delicious dim sum.

Our last day in the city we wandered around the walled city of Intramuros and visited the shrine to Dr. Jose Rizal. The shrine displayed his poetry, artifacts and the cell where he was held before his execution. We also checked out Fort Santiago in Intramuros.
